Introduction: The Ministry of Culture and Tourism released the Opinions on Promoting the High-quality Development of the Digital Culture Industry in November 2020, calling for efforts to foster some original IP with distinct Chinese cultural features, strengthen IP development and transformation, make full use of industrial forms such as animation, cartoon and game, Internet literature, Internet music, online show, online video, digital art and creative design, to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of fine Chinese traditional culture.
According to the 2021 China Licensing Industry Report, China registered licensed goods retail sales of 110.6 billion yuan in 2020, up 11.5% year on year, thus becoming the world's fastest-growing countries in terms of brand licensing. There are currently three major brand licensing markets in China: Shanghai, Beijing and Guangdong.
In recent years, due to the severity of product homogeneity and rigid individual demand, the concepts of IP and brand licensing have been spread all time, the film derivative industry has taken initial shape in China, a growing number of film IP owners have planned the business layout of licensing at the beginning of projects, and more enterprises have realized the importance of brand licensing and started trials on it. Besides, as generation-Z groups are gradually becoming key consumers, IP previously recognized as niche culture like quadratic element has surfaced, creating more possibilities for the development of licensing and other business forms.

Introduction: The 12th BJIFF "Forward Future" Honorary Ceremony & A.R.T. Night of Young Filmmakers is scheduled to be held on Yanqi Island at 7:00PM, August 18, 2022. The award winners in the section will be unveiled at the ceremony, and a discussion will be held on the creation practices of Chinese young filmmakers and the hot issues of the film industry. Present will be Cui Yan, Executive Deputy Director of the BJIFF Organizing Committee Office; Wu Guanping, Head of the "Forward Future" Section; members of the international jury of the "Forward Future" Section, the cast & crew of the films shortlisted for the "Forward Future" Section, awards presenters and outstanding young filmmakers.
