　　Overview

　　China's box office earnings topped RMB 44 billion for the first time in 2015 and soared in early 2016. The industry was optimistic about the box office that summer. Consequently, the summer box office was sluggish unexpectedly. Despite the growth in the number of screens, the overall box office was even with that in 2015, with the lowest growth in recent years.The proportion of Chinese films decreased from 72 percent to 52 percent.Particularly, a couple of films starring "fresh meat" (young handsome guys) flopped. The model of "fresh meat + IP + youth film" seems to have come to an inflection point. Are "fresh meat" really handsome guys with poor acting?
