The 7th Beijing International Film Festival - Film Market will be held from April 19 to 21, 2017 at Beijing International Hotel. The solicitation of film projects and online application is officially available as from December 1. Following are the replies to the frequently asked questions (FAQs).

What are the requirements for the project pitches?

    1. A completed screenplay that is ready for filming by the date of application, plus 5000 words synopsis.
    2. Film projects that have not yet to be filmed or to conclude fundraising activities.
    3. Priority will be given to film projects that are not involved in any other film market or project pitching event.
    4. Film projects should not only have strong market potential, but also potential for a future release in China.
    5. Film projects registration should display high commercial or artistic values

What are the requirements for the project pitches?

    1. Login to the website of Beijing International Film Festival -Film Market.
    2. Complete the registration form (a valid e-mail address and phone number are required).
    3. Complete submission of project information before February 28, 2017.

What is the process of project shortlisting?

    1. First-round selection: March 1 - March 22
    2. Second-round selection: March 23-April 13
    3. Final-round selection and Project Pitches: April 19-21

How would I be informed of the final-round selection and project pitches?

    1. Beijing International Film Festival-Film Market will release the final-round list.
    2. Beijing International Film Festival- Film Market Department will contact the final-round candidates per the contact information in the application form.

What should I do if shortlisted?

    1. Prepare 20 minutes’ presentation & speech.
    2. Participate in “Project Pitches” roadshows and relating training, rehearsal and so on.
    3. Have 2 day’s one-on-one individual meetings for the project.
    4. Participate in other activities of the 7th Beijing International Film Festival-Film Market for free.

What are the awards may be given to the shortlisted projects?

    1. A “Special Award”
    2. A “Greatest Commercial Potential”
    3. A “Best Original Screenplay”
    4. A“ Best Creativity Award”
