(I) “See the World through Film” Documentary (Short Film) Competition

     The competition received 414 pieces of works sent by 64 domestic and overseas filmmaking agencies and 254 independent filmmakers from 12 nations and regions, the award winners of which were screened at the closing ceremony.

(II) Filming Equipment Exhibition

     Nearly a hundred valuable pieces of film-related items were displayed in the three-day exhibition in separated sections such as “Filming Equipment Exhibition”, “Film Poster Exhibition”, “Classic Cinematic Scene Exhibition”, and “Classic Film Character Exhibition” by which visitors were able to enjoy classic films once again. In addition, an official film poster exhibition was held on April 23-28, 2011, at the China National Film Museum.

(III) The 18th Beijing College Student Film Festival

     Opening on March 26, the 18th Beijing College Student Film Festival organized film screening in both competition and out-of-competition sections, along with seminars and awarding ceremony at the closing night.

(IV) Beijing Film Festival for Youth Welfare

      Time: April 21-28, 2011

     Venue: Beijing Youth Palace and its affiliated primary and secondary school

     Beijing Film Festival for Youth Welfare held an opening ceremony and a press conference on April 20, 2011. On April 21-28, an event titled “See Films, Tell Stories” was held in Beijing Youth Palace and its affiliated primary and secondary school to show the charms of film to kids and teenagers.

(V) Beijing Ethnic Film Festival

     Beijing Ethnic Film Festival was held on April 23-28, 2011, during which 30 ethnic themed films made in their own languages were shown. On April 26 - May 6, other events including film panoramas and forums, were held under the theme of “Yangsong, Town of Film”. This was also the first time that Chinese ethnic films were shown in domestic and international film festivals.
