Synopsis: In the early 1990s, a working girl Xiaowen and Ah Si, a local gangster, fall in love in a small town in the suburb of Shanghai. Xiaowen is forced to get involved in the dangerous fighting of gangsters. She becomes hesitant about the love until Ah Si buys a noodle shop with the money borrowed from loan sharks and promises her a family. Ten years later, their daughter, Xia Bingjie, grows up in this small noodle shop which is actually an underground casino.
