On August 17 and 18, 2022, the 12th BJIFF Magic Edition Forum, hosted by China Cinema Editors Association (CCEA), co-hosted by the Anima and the School of Theater, Film and Television, CUC, the Audio-Visual School of Communication University of Shanxi, was held online and offline. Zhou Xinxia, together with well-known Chinese editors, carried out a video dialogue with four famous editors from the United States on the topic “Technique and Art behind Editing”, and then made the comments on the creation of scene editing in some classic films. The CCEA International Cooperation and Exchange Committee was also declared to be established at the forum. The event lasted two days and five roundtable forums were held themed with Opportunities and Challenges of TV Series in the Era of Network Entertainment, Concerns and Reviews in the Era of Network Entertainment, Social Reproduction of Short Films, New Ideas and New Breakthroughs – Creation of Mini Drama, New Audiovisual Expression of Non-Profit Short Films in the Context of Traditional Culture; Short Video Refinement Audiovisual Creation, Advance and Educational Cultivation. “The Tao of Gold Editing”, an annual Editors’ List of Movies in Focus program, was launched at the forum to review the works from the perspective of professional film editors and sort out the annual Editors’ List of Movies in Focus to promote the industry development and provide learning materials for the industry and the academia.
