Tiantan Award is the official competition section of BJIFF. It aims to discover and present recent outstanding films from across the globe and encourage diversity in the film industry. Tiantan Award each year comprises a maximum of 17 full-length feature films. During the festival, a seven-member jury committee will watch the shortlisted films and select the films and filmmakers to be awarded in ten categories.

Tiantan Award includes 10 award categories: Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Artistic Contribution, Best Leading Actor, Best Leading Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Music .

The 13th Beijing International Film Festival will be held in Beijing, China from April 20th to 30th, 2023.

Tiantan Award 2023 continues to invite outstanding films around the globe to participate in the competition section. After a series of selection processes, 15 films stood out as the candidates of the awards. Tiantan Award International Jury Committee consists of 7 prestigious and leading figures in global film industry. They will select the winners of 10 awards based on the depth of thinking, artistry, and public appeal. The winners will be announced at the Closing & Awards Ceremony of the 13th BJIFF.
