The 14th Beijing International Film Festival(BJIFF)· ReelFocus Fresh Blood short film section will be held in Beijing, China, in April 17th to April 20th, 2024. 

ReelFocus Fresh Blood short film section is a public welfare program that focusing on exploring and cultivating student directors and young filmmakers.

This project is established aiming to discover and support outstanding fresh young filmmakers, hoping to inject more fresh blood into developing Chinese films, and provide a platform for students to successfully become professional directors. This section is of great significance for exploring the sustainable development model of talents in the Chinese film industry.

The 14th Beijing International Film Festival(BJIFF)· ReelFocus Fresh Blood short film section received a total of 2764 submissions from nearly 100 countries and regions around the world, covering Asia, North America, South America, Oceania, Europe and Africa, a real sense of Global Youth Film Festival.

Seven well-known industry professionals are invited to form the final judging panel for the feature film competition section. Peggy Chiao was invited to serve as the president of the jury, the members of the jury are screenwriter Yu Chen, actress Qinqin Jiang, actor Chuxiao Qu, director Derek Hui,actor Yosh Yu and actor Feng Zu.

The final judging panel for the feature project pitches section is composed of Patrick Mao Huang, Xiaofeng Yu and Dapeng Zhang. The final judging panel for documentary section is composed of Yun Han, Arthur Jones and Junjian Liang.

ReelFocus Fresh Blood short film section has established the following awards.

For the competition section(totle 9 awards): Best Narrative Feature/Best Narrative Feature Director/Best Screenwriter/Best Cinematography/Best Art Direction/Best Sound Design/Best Editing/Best Documentary/Best Documentary Director
