“Film Power Forum—Innovations and Improvements in Film Criticism in the New Era”
With the upcoming 12th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), the Film Power Forum—Innovations and Improvements in Film Criticism in the New Era is scheduled to open on August 18, 2022 in Beijing. Hosted by BJIFF Organizing Committee and organized by China Film Critics Association, Zhong Dianfei Film Critics Development Fund to China Film Fund and Chongqing Movie City (Baisha Town, Jiangjin District), the forum is set to make great contributions to enhance the film industry, build relevant brands, attract more audience for market expansion and seek innovations for film critics.
▍ Talks between theory and practice—communication between critics and production
With a highlight of “fact-to-face conversations between film critics and creators”, the forum will present several keynote speeches under the theme of “Film Power Forum—Innovations and Improvements in Film Criticism in the New Era” with an aim to share the pioneering thoughts on the industry and contribute to the stable growth of Chinese films.

The forum will focus on the follow issues: How to strengthen film industry as an important approach to build a film power? How to make a unique film brand with popular and acceptable product to increase market shares and influence of Chinese films on the global arena?

The forum gives another important signal for the film industry, that is to widen the angle and space of film critics and develop a new ecosphere towards the goal of building a film power, while increasing the influence of Chinese films worldwide by means of acceptable means of critics, thereby push ahead China’s film industry towards the sharing thoughts of filmmakers and audience and in the people-centered perspective.
