Meeting at the film carnival, enjoying the film feast.

 

The Film Carnival of the 11th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) will be held from August 14 to 31. With the theme "Scientific and Technological Innovation in Huairou, Pursuit of Film Dreams", the carnival aims to demonstrate the changes and brilliant achievements of Chinese films over the century since the founding of the Communist Party of China to film fans and tourists with rich contents and in diversified expressive forms.

 

The carnival will still take place at the China (Huairou) Film and Television Industry Demonstration Zone. In addition to the State Production Base of China Film Group, several new venues will be added, including Flower Sea of the Film Town, Deer World Theme Park and Yangsong Town Comprehensive Cultural Center. 40 activities will be presented in four sectors: "Illusion & Films", "Charisma & Films", "Love & Films" and "Childhood & Films", to deliver a tech-powered carnival, a spacious and passionate carnival, a carnival offering a variety of films, and a carnival featuring red classics in honor of the 100-year-old Party. The biggest highlight is the night session that will fuel the night economy including night travel, entertainment, shopping and dining. Besides, the carnival will set the trend of "Sleepless & Eventful Town", and create a cultural tourism brand—"Spend Your Weekend at the Film Town".

 

The venue of "Love & Films" is located at Flower Sea of the Film Town. The sector will host the Opening Ceremony of the Film Carnival, 100-People Film-themed Date, Film Culture Exhibition, Tech-powered Projection, Light Feast and other thematic events.

 

The venue of "Illusion & Films" is located at Yangsong Town Comprehensive Cultural Center. On a platform, through astronomical telescopes, tourists can peer into the starry sky, to unveil the mystery of the moon and Saturn, and experience the Universe in eyes of astronomers.

The venue of "Charisma & Films", located at the State Production Base of China Film Group, is a must-visited attraction for tourists. Real film props and unique statues of "workers, peasants and soldiers" in the base offer tourists close-range sensory experiences. At the costume, makeup and props exhibition hall, tourists can immerse themselves in the scenes and atmosphere of films and TV dramas. The combination of the shooting location in the Yangtze River Delta with script role playing enhances travel experience and fun, offering tourist an immersive film & television experience.

The venue of "Childhood & Films" is located at Deer World Theme Park. The sector, upgraded in night atmosphere creation and theme content setting, offers family recreation facilities such as Colorful Slides and Jurassic World Mini-train. It presents fantastic immersive light shows, and delivers classical puppet shows in association with China Puppet Theatre, to make participants enjoy the happy time with their beloved.

In addition, the carnival will offer outdoor screenings and in-depth interactive experiences such as influencer streaming, performing arts commune and Cosplay parade. With focus on the theme of the 11th BJIFF--"New Opportunity ·New Horizon", the carnival will create new immersive film-themed night tour scenes, polish the cultural leisure brand of "Spend Your Weekend at the Film Town", and demonstrate the new look of the Chinese film town in high-quality development.
