The story about Konstantin Sergeevich Stanislavsky – genius of the 20th century, who managed to keep his inner freedom and a true artistry within the harsh boundaries of the Soviet system - all thanks to the power of his talent. In this movie we talked to modern theatrical and movie directors, such as Kirill Serebrennikov, Katie Mitchell, Lev Dodin and others, about Stanislavsky influence on their day-to-day work on stage and on set.
Every one of them sees their reflections and a part of their souls in the mirror of Stanislavsky genius. While searching for the answer of the relevancy of Stanislavsky in the modern theatre, our characters find out that the modern art lacks its main component – the human being.
