The 11th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) – Samsung Mobile Short Film Unit will take place on September 27, 2021. The high-profile three-member jury lineup of producer Ye Ning, screenwriter Shu Huan and director Li Weiran will attend the event together with young directors taking part in the Samsung Mobile Short Film Unit, to discuss with Samsung representatives how mobile technology can transform images, encourage young filmmakers to conduct film creation, and present several awards such as Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Editing and Most Promising Talent.

 

To encourage young filmmakers to conduct device-neutral film creation and show diversified artistic expression in a brand new way, the 11th BJIFF works with Samsung Galaxy S21 5G to launch Samsung Mobile Short Film Unit, which was officially open for registration across the country from May 28. Young filmmakers from all over the country entered for the competition enthusiastically and the innovative form of mobile shooting has drawn close attention in the industry. 22 young directors were shortlisted for mobile film creations in Pro Category to present free and innovative film expression.

 

Excellent mobile short films in both Pro Category and Open Category have now been available on the official platform of the BJIFF for Online Screening.

 

 

The 11th BJIFF – Samsung Mobile Short Film Unit will be held on the morning of September 27. By this point, the jury lineup of famous filmmakers Ye Ning, Shu Huan and Li Weiran, along with head of the BJIFF and Samsung representatives, will attend the forum to announce the winners of various awards. In unison, there will be a roundtable forum with the theme "Technology Leads Image Revolution", where Ye Ning, Shu Huan and Li Weiran will explore the freedom and technical superiority of mobile film creation with Zhang Daijun, President of Samsung Electronics China Research Center. To wrap up, major awards for the Samsung Mobile Short Film Unit in both Pro Category and Open Category will be presented.
