Media House Programme First Set up in Tiantan Award with Excellent Films Attracting Great Attention
The annual event BJIFF, which lasts one week per year, is the festivity celebrated heavily by film-goers, during which the many classic or new films have satiated the viewers. Even more, the Competition Section, Tiantan Award put on show a few mega-hit films that met the aesthetic needs of the film-goers.  
 
This year, 15 films from 19 countries and regions in the world were shortlisted in the Competition Section, Tiantan Award, some of which were made by master directors and some by rising directors. To ensure the Tiantan Award pools the best films in the world and encourages film diversity, the BJIFF, for the first time, has set up the Media House Programme for Official Selection of Tiantan Award with the aim of collecting the latest global masterpieces and enabling the diversity of films. With a more professional, standard and open attitude, it aims to provide more diverse channels for filmmakers, fans and media to make their voices heard, and further reflect the diversity and inclusiveness of Tiantan Award and film art.

This Media House Programme for Official Selection of Tiantan Award brings together media professionals and film critics from 13 media, including China Movie Report programme, China Film Report, Yizan of Beijing News, The Beijing News, ent.ifeng.com, Movie View, Variety, World Screen, DULIYU, tuo-luo-dian-ying, Movie,Tucao Movie and Bu San, aiming to let more excellent art films at home and abroad be watched, let more excellent creators' voices be heard, let more types of exploration be screened, and let more diversified creative perspectives get empathy via professional forces and authoritative platforms.
The Pact, a shortlisted film in the Tiantan Award
 
Based on the scores given by judges, the new film The Pact by the famous Danish director Bille August, and the film Conference co-produced by Russia, Estonia, UK and Italy received favor from most media movie critics, which obtained the 3.5 average score in the media House Programme. The Chinese film Beyond the Skies combines the traditional approach with the war narratives, thus gaining great praise. At the same time, the Finnish film Any Day Now and the film Caged Birds jointly-produced by Switzerland and Germany also received recognition. 
 
One thousand Hamlets live in the hearts of one thousand readers. As the subjective and diverse form of art, people differ in the perspectives of viewing films and in preferences for the films. When the results of Tiantan Award are disclosed, they might be the same as shown in the media House Programme, or might be slightly different. The film-goers are more curious to see which films are the winners of Tiantan Award.

The media House Programme of shortlisted films for the Tiantan Award represents the improvement and upgrading of the BJIFF based on its previous achievements. It not only strengthens the professionalism of the BJIFF, but also conveys to film producers, film industry insiders and film-goers the message that BJIFF, both as the international and authoritarian platform, adheres to the charm of film culture and the practice of keeping pace with the times, thus providing a fairer, more reasonable and professional international stage for those excellent art films that truly reflect the progress of film art in recent years and reflect the trend of film industry in the future.
 
At 07:30PM on September 29, the Closing & Awarding Ceremony of the 11th BJIFF will be held, which can be viewed on BTV, CCTV-6, yangshipin.cn, 1905, btime.com and iQIYI. The ten prizes of the Tiantan Award will be disclosed. Please wait and see which films are the award winners!
