Touching Video about Jury of Tiantan Award is Released. BJIFF Gets Better with You
On September 29, 2021, the 11th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) came to a successful conclusion against the backdrop of beautiful fall scenery in Beijing under shining starlight. The lively and moving Closing & Awards Ceremony not only had unprecedented online meetup with the casts & crews of 12 shortlisted films for Tiantan Award, but also witnessed the unrivalled “Red Sorghum Couple”— Jiang Wen and Gong Li presenting awards on the same stage, bringing back memories. All award winners are well deserved.
As a paramount part of the BJIFF, Tiantan Award has always attracted the attention of film communities at home and abroad. Each award signifies hard work of the filmmakers and diligent commitment of the Jury members of Tiantan Award.
As the “home base” of Chinese filmmakers, the BJIFF is a home that provides a platform for filmmakers to meet and communicate with each other. It’s full of professionalism, internationalism, tenderness and affection, warming and touching every participant, and making them feel like at home.
At the Closing Ceremony, Jiang Wen said, “We will come back to present awards in another 34 years. See you then!” This is not only a promise, but also conveys the affirmation, expectation and blessing of filmmakers to the BJIFF. Gong Li, Jury President of Tiantan Award, said, “Epidemics are temporary, but films are timeless.” Chinese filmmakers will continue to forge ahead in the world of films, and the BJIFF will keep its original aspiration, continue to stride forward, and strive to “leave our deep impression” in the global long history of films.
Sincere gratitude goes to the hard-working Jury of Tiantan Award this year, earnest efforts devoted by every “BJIFFer”, and enthusiastic support of all participants. We will see you next year!
