At the Closing & Awards Ceremony of the 12th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), ten awards for the Competition Section, Tiantan Award were officially released. 

The Finnish film The Blind Man Who Did Not Want To See Titanic was the biggest winner with three awards: Best Feature Film, Best Actor and Best Screenplay. This film is shot from the perspective of a blind man, making it an impressive action and thriller film. Its director, Teemu Nikk, is a self-taught filmmaker, and this is his fifth feature film. The director said that he had never seen Titanic. The tickets for this film were sold out fleetly at Beijing Film Panorama. 

 

The “Best Director” winner—French film The Family is the second feature film directed by Fabien Gorgeart. He once worked as an assistant director among the crew, and directed six short films from 2007 to 2016, which were shortlisted for and awarded at major film festivals.

The Best Actress was awarded to Chinese actress Wu Yanshu starring in Song of Spring. Wu Yanshu was once an actress in Shanxi Grand Theater, and rarely starred in films or TV dramas. In 2016, she became a well-known actress for her role in Finding Mr. Right 2, and was awarded and nominated at several domestic and foreign film festivals. 　

The Best Supporting Actor went to Santos Choque, an actor in the Bolivian film Utama. This film tells the story of an elderly Quechua couple in the Bolivian highlands facing an uncommonly long drought that threatens their entire way of life. With the arrival of their grandson Clever, the three of them face, each in their own way, the environment, the necessity for change, and the meaning of life itself. 

The Best Supporting Actress went to Sigourney Weaver, the famous actress starring in the American film Call Jane. Sigourney Weaver, a renowned Hollywood female star, has been nominated for Academy Awards (Oscars) and other awards several times. As early as 1970s and 1980s, she became a famous actress beloved by film fans at home and abroad because of Alien series. She also starred in Avatar series. 　

The Best Music was granted to the French film Full Time. The film tells the story of a hard-working mother who urgently strives for a job amid the nationwide strike. This is the second feature film directed by Eric Gravel.
