“Focus on Italy” aims to boost the platform of industry exchange and cooperation between China and Italy. The event includes Sino-Italian Co-production Forum for Chinese and Italian panelists to share their visions on co-production, Sino-Italian Co-Production Roundtable for both countries’ professionals to exchange face to face, and Italian Showcase to screen selected Italian films.
1、Vision on Sino-Italian Film Co-production
Panelist:REN ZHONGLUN
Professor, Chairman and President of Shanghai Film Group, one of the largest film corporations in China, with its business covering film production, distribution, media, technology and other related business. In the last decade, the company has achieved the title of "Top 30 Cultural Enterprises" for six times and "Merit Award for Cultural System Reform" twice.
Mr. REN has produced and presented many influential films including 1911, Phurbu & Tenzin, The Grandmaster, Mountains May Depart and Time Raiders, and TV series such as Drawing Sword, The Founder, Marshal Peng Dehuai, and Ipartment. His films won Golden Lion Best Picture at Venice Film Festival, and Jury Award, Best Actor Award, Best Screenplay, and Technology Award at Cannes Film Festival. Ren himself has been awarded many times "Man of the Year" at CineAsia, “Outstanding Achievement in Chinese Cinema” at Chinese American Film Festival, “Excellent Producer” by Chinese Film Huabiao Awards, “Producer with Outstanding Achievement in 20 Years of Chinese TV Series”, and “Top Ten Player in Chinese Culture Industry”.
Panelist:Paolo Del Brocco
Paolo Del Brocco,
Born in Rome, Italy in 1963, he is a movie manager, journalist and university professor. Since 1991, he had been working at Rai, Italian National Television. In his long career, he worked at Rai 2, taking charge of network planning that belongs to the Broadcasting Rights Management Division. In 1999, he became the manager of Rai Fiction for Acquisition of Cinema Production and Sales Products. When Rai Cinema Spa was established in 2000, Del Brocco began to be in charge of the finance, administration and management of the new company. In 2007, he was appointed as General Director of Rai Cinema, and from 2010, he has been the CEO.
In Rai Cinema, he produced hundreds of successful movies including Caesar Must Die (Cesare deve morire, 2012) and Fire at Sea (Fuocoammare, 2016), both of which won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale. His Sacro Gra (2013) earned a Golden Lion at Venice International Film Festival. The tree of life (2011) won a Golden Palm Award. Also, Gomorra, Reality and The Wonders won the Jury Prizes at Cannes Film festival. See You in Texas won the Jury Prize at the 19th Shanghai International Film Festival. In addition, he got several prizes at Tokyo, Locarno, Toronto, EFA and many others.
Panelist:ZHANG QIANG
Aged 52 and appointed to the Board on August 5, 2014, is an executive director and the co-president of the Company and a member of the executive committee of the Company. He has more than 27 years of experience in the media industry. Mr. Zhang has been the vice president of China Film Co., Ltd. since November 2011. From June 2006 to November 2011, he was the Deputy General Editor of Beijing Television and the chairman of Beijing Forbidden City Film Co., Ltd. From November 2003 to June 2006, he was the General Manager of Beijing Forbidden City Film Co., Ltd. From April 2000 to November 2003, he was the General Manager of Beijing Forbidden City Xindu TV Media Co., Ltd. Mr. Zhang is the chief line producer of a number of award-winning Chinese movies including American Dreams in China and So Young. Mr. Zhang holds a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Literature from Peking University and a master’s degree in film aesthetics from Beijing Film Academy.
Panelist:Maria Grazia Cucinotta
Maria Grazia Cucinotta is a well known Italian movie and television actress born in Messina, Sicily. She is also known as a film producer, screenwriter and model. Internationally she is known for her roles in “Il Postino” and as the Bond girl, credited as the Cigar Girl, in the James Bond film “The World Is Not Enough”.She guest-starred in The Sopranos episode "Isabella" and also appeared on The Simpsons episode "The Italian Bob" voicing Sideshow Bob's wife, Francesca.She won the America Award of the Italy-USA Foundation in 2010.
Maria Grazia Cucinotta created the company Seven Dreams Productions in 2006 with the goal of producing films, with a particular interest in young talent and the development of resources and of existing potential in Southern Italy. In her career as an actress and producer has collaborated with key figures in world cinema (Emir Kusturica, Spike Lee, Ridley Scott, John Woo, Luis Enriquez Bacalov, James Gandolfini, David Chase, John Cleese, etc.) and has created a network of top-level contacts.

Panelist:ROBERTO STABILE
He is the Head of International Relations and Events of ANICA (Italian Film Audiovisual And Multimedia Industries Association). He coordinates the joint project of ITA (Italian Trade Agency) and Anica-Apt-Italian Film Commission-Unefa-Cartoon Italia and Mibact (Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism) and has set up a network of information and representative desks for international film industry relations with Italy in the major World Markets. At the moment there are two permanent offices in Los Angles and Bejing and a series of information desks in Seul, Shanghai, Hanoi, Mosca, London, Berlin, Paris, Toronto, New York, Miami, Mexico City, San Paolo and Buenos Aires. He coordinates together with ITA and MIBACT the China Project, with the aim of promoting the dialogue and the cooperation between Chinese and Italian film industries.
Panelist:Mariella Troccoli
Head of Film and Audiovisual Office at Mibact. She works in the Cinema industry since 1992. Since 2004 she heads Division II – Cinema and Audiovisual at the Cinema General Directorate of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Tourism. She works, among other things, for the internationalization of the cinema sector, developing relations with other States Administrations as far as concern co-production agreements, co-development funds and the Italian participation to supranational funds.
Panelist:STEFANIA IPPOLITI
High School Diploma.Faculty of Law. She was a representative in foreign markets for italian companies from 1976 to 1990, and she was the director of Yves Saint Laurent in Florence from 1990 to 1997. Since 1997 she was managing director of cultural projects of Contemporanea Progettisrl, in charge of marketing strategy, brand development, organization of complex projects. At the same time she was also the president of Confesercenti Florence; Member of board of directors of Florence Chamber of Commerce; PittiImmagine. From 2006 to 2009, she was responsible for Fondazione Mediateca Regionale - Toscana Film Commission. Since 2009, she was the director of Mediateca and area Cinema at Fondazione Sistema Toscana, and served as president of Italian Film Commission from 2014.
