2017 "Tiantan Award" Competition Section is scheduled to be held in Beijing, China from April 16 to 23.

　　"Tiantan Award" will inherit the values of "Beauty in Variety, Harmony in Diversity", invite masters as judges, and continue its great reputation and brand influence in the industry with international vision, standardized procedures and professional level.

　　Beijing Film Academy will organize the event through its professional team and industrial resources, and invite seven world-renowned filmmakers to vote on ten awards (Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Music, Best Visual Effects) on the basis of collective viewing and full discussion, in accordance with international practices and rules. All awards will be unveiled at the Closing Ceremony of the 7th Beijing International Film Festival, and the winners will receive certificates and trophies.

　　With the aim of "building a top film event with international vision and humanistic feelings", the event has sent invitations to prestigious filmmakers in the world, and finalized the jury. The jury has seven members, including one president (Danish director Bille August) and six judges.

　　The Competition Department of "Tiantan Award" 2017 received 424 entries from 59 countries and regions on six continents, including 274 international films and 150 domestic films. With rich subjects, diverse types and distinctive styles, the entries have been improved significantly in quality compared to before.
