BJIFF DOC’s mission is Frontiers Exploring and Cross-sector Integrating.
Multiple forums, screenings and salon activities are organized in each year’s BJIFF DOC sector, which contributed greatly to the development and integration of the documentary industry. The Fifth BJIFF DOC will be organized by BTV Documentary Channel, and will continue to explore and push forward the content, industry and market development of Chinese documentary.
This year’s Documentary Sector will be themed on “Documenting the New Era”, and will be dedicated to the exploration of the reform and development path of the documentary industry. The 2018 event includes the following major activities: theme forum on the media communication of “The Belt and Road Initiative” jointly organized by BTV Documentary Channel and China Intercontinental Communication Center (CICC), which advocates the establishment of a shared communication platform by exploring the potential cultural and business benefits that a media communication alliance may bring forth to member units; Opening ceremony of the Documentary Sector, namely the Documentary Industry Forum; meeting with the cast members of the opening night film Heart of the Tiger; launch ceremony of the Annual Report on the Development of Chinese Documentary; presentation of the 2018 series of the Documentary Channel; forum and program solicitation themed on the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up; project presentation of DocChina Committee; theme forum on new media and the documentary industries; forum on the Winter Olympics filming.
