On April 17th, the second day of the “International Film Market Forum” of the 9th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), the Forum continued to present a multitude of activities. Wang Yan, Marketing Director of Sichuan Pacific Cinemas Management Co., Ltd., with a speech titled “Cinemas Build Boundaryless Marketing with Own Platforms”, Jin Bo, CEO of Beijing Guanyu Theater Management Co., Ltd., with a speech titled “Cinema Reorganization and Capital Operation in 2019”, Zuo Heng, Deputy Director of the Film Culture Research Office at the China Film Archive, with a speech titled “Art Films in Film Culture and Cultural Research”, and Gill Thomson, Chairman of the French 3A Company with a speech titled “Distribution of Chinese Films in France and Distribution of Foreign Films in China and Co-productions”, exchanged ideas in the section of “Cinema Manager Master Class”.
In the section of “International Film Market Seminar”, China Film Distribution Co., Ltd. promoted excellent films, including Animal Rescue Squad, The Good Kid, My Best Summer and Journey to China: The Secret of the Seal of the Dragon. Chen Xin from AEGIS (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. and Fu Yalong from EntGroup Inc. had an in-depth discussion with attendees on topics like “How to Efficiently Conduct Second Transformation of Viewers” and “Intelligence Application of Cinema Data”.
The two-day master class courses came to an end as the Forum was concluded. The graduation ceremony was held that afternoon. The “International Film Market Forum” of the 9th BJIFF then came to a successful conclusion.
The “International Film Market Forum” is the only market forum of the BJIFF that focuses on cinema screening. Taking the opportunity of the BJIFF, the forum has set up a good film communication platform for cinema managers nationwide and is of great significance to improving the quality of and upgrading cinemas. The forum, focusing on hot topics about cinemas, invited senior industry experts and successful cinema managers from both home and abroad to share their views on cinema management, investment and operation. The forum has fully embodied the purpose of the BJIFF of “Share the Screen, Shape the Future” and brought together more professionals in domestic and overseas film industries, becoming an important platform connecting domestic and overseas film markets. The forum has a far-reaching significance to the international and diversified development of the Chinese film market.
