Lu Chuan is a well-known Chinese film director, scriptwriter and executive producer, a forerunner among young Chinese directors and an outstanding representative of the 6th-generation directors. As one of the most incisive and influential author-directors in China today, Lu Chuan, with his unique perspective and trenchant imagery, profoundly dissects the society and history of China, reveals the inner world and human nature of characters, and has triggered intensive debates and deep reflections in the Chinese cinematography. His films, such as Black Hole, Ke Ke Xi Li, City of Life and Death and The Last Supper, evoked vehement discussions among the media and audience. Lu Chuan is also very supportive and helping to young film directors. The Old Cinderella, a film about city love story for which Lu Chuan acted as executive producer/producer for the first time, was screened nationwide in March 2014.
