The first press conference for Canada China International Film Festival is scheduled to be held by the Organizing Committee of Canada China International Film Festival at the Ballroom of Beijing International Hotel on the afternoon of April 22, 2016 at 2:30 pm. Present will be over 200 guests, including Luan Guozhi, deputy director of Film Bureau of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China, Ms. Cindy Termorshuizen, envoy of Embassy of Canada in China, Gao Feng, vice chairman of Chinese Culture Promotion Society, former director of China Central Television, Wang Haiping, famous Chinese scriptwriter, Bian Jainguo, deputy general secretary of the organizing committee of Beijing International Film Festival, Sun Xianghui, curator of China Film Archive, Wang Fenglin, vice chairman of China Film Producers’ Association, Dr. Graham Carr, vice-president of Concordia University, Xie Fei, Chairman Emeritus of Canada China International Film Festival, leaders and institutions of the two government authorities, famous directors, producers and representatives of major movie picture production companies. Additionally, List of International Jury for “Canada China Academy Film Award (CCAFA)” of Canada China International Film Festival will be released, preparations and highlights of the first Canada China International Film Festival, progress of “International Film Screening” section will be briefed and interaction with media will be carried out.
The first Canada China International Film Festival is scheduled to be held in Montreal, Canada from September 16 to 19, 2016, which is themed by “Integrating Canadian-Chinese film resources and technology to set up a cooperation platform for exhibition and exchanges, creating a new future for Canadian-Chinese film industries”, adhering to its style of professionalism, internationalization, leading edge and marketization. This session of Canada China International Film Festival is sponsored by Canada China Art-Tech, and supported by Film Bureau of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China, Telefilm, Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Montreal, SODEC, Montreal Municipal Government and other government sectors of Canada and China, which has been included in important official activities of 2015-2016 China-Canada Year of People-to-People and Cultural Exchanges.
Seven major theme activities will be held at the first Canada China International Film Festival, including Competition Section, CCAFA Competition, Opening & Closing Ceremony, Film Panorama, S&T Summit, Female Film Symposium and Sino-Canada Co-production Project Pitches. Presently, all preparatory works have been launched.
