The 5th Beijing International Film Festival Film Concert will be held on April 17th and 18th, 7:30 p.m., at BPA Theatre of Cultural Palace of Nationalities. Two concerts, namely “The Centennial Classic Film Concert” and “The World-famous Works Film Concert,” will be on stage. This year is the 120th anniversary of the birth of world film and 110th anniversary of the birth of Chinese film. Since 1895 when the first silent film was born in France and 1905 when the first Chinese drama film was born, film has broadened the horizon of spiritual world of human beings by presenting the diversified cultures and a colorful world. This art spans time and space, and bridges gaps between cultures.
This is the 5th consecutive year Beijing Performance & Arts Group holds the Beijing International Film Festival Film Concert. The organizer invites film musicians both from home and abroad to co-produce two concerts. At “The Centennial Classic Film Concert,” the first Chinese film exported in 1926 “Liudieyuan” will be unveiled. China Broadcasting & Film Orchestra and five orchestras from five film studios will join hands to launch “The Centennial Classic Music and Picture” to celebrate the anniversaries. Tian Jiaxin, a young and prominent pianist living in America, will perform the music from the film “The Pianist.” Chai Liang, a well-known violinist living in America, will perform the melody from the film “Schindler’s List” to call for world peace. The world-famous tenor Ding Yi, with other singers, will sing theme songs of classic films and songs from the ear of anti-Japanese war to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the anti-Japanese war.
Several theme songs of classic films, including “Pursuit,” “I Love You China,” “I will always Love You,” “Velvet Flowers,” and “Goodbye My Friend,” will take you back to the past. Prominent voice actors including Tong Zirong, Xu Tao and Di Feifei will dub the films “Jane Eyre,” “War and Peace,” “And Quiet Flows the Don,” “Anna Karenina” at the concert. Moreover, Chinese film musicians of three generations will share with audiences their feelings and emotions in composing the music pieces. The 5th Beijing International Film Festival Film Concert is glorified as a beautiful landscape in the film carnival where film musicians get together.
