Jackson Yee, Youth Publicity and Promotion Ambassador of the 11th BJIFF
On the popularity and industry recognition, Jackson Yee definitely outshines other young filmmakers.
Invited as the Youth Publicity and Promotion Ambassador of the 11th BJIFF, Yee completed an official promotional film with high professionalism: “In an Era of Hope, Let’s Forge Ahead”.
In 2019, Better Days, Yee’s debut film, was released, followed in the coming years by A Little Red Flower and Chinese Doctors, both of which were highly credited. No more words are comparable to his impressive performances. At his very start of the film career, Yee showed us his immeasurable potential in each motion, unforgettable and perpetual.
Diligent and studious
An actor should focus on performance. Jackson Yee sticks to performance with a firm belief, which has been seen from his debut in Better Days as Xiao Bei.

A climax in the film is a heartsore look between Xiao Bei and Chen Nian through the glass.

A scene without lines in the Better Days: Jackson Yee vividly depicts the figure without subtle expressions and moves
With subtle financial expressions and moves, Yee showed us his pain and struggling incisively and vividly. The closed-up is the touchstone of performances: Any performance beyond is as wrong as falling short. But this moment leads all of us to the inner world of Xiao Bei.
Behind the extraordinary performance is Yee’s great professionalism.

A Little Red Flower: Wei Yihang's words of love in the night of rain deeply touch us
How he deals with difficulties in performing is telling himself to do it again and again until he finally finds what is truly needed.
All efforts deserve to be valued. Jackson Yee was titled the Best Newcomer at the 14th Asian Film Awards, the Best New Comer of Hundred Flowers Awards and the Best New Performer of Hong Kong Film Awards for the film Better Days. The box office receipts of the heated film A Little Red Flower tallied RMB1.433 billion. Despite the super-high popularity, Yee never stops in enhancing his performance skills, which should be the true essence for pioneering young filmmakers.
Focus on reality
On his solid foundation of skills, Jackson Yee puts more emphasis on the meaning of films -- the “reality”.
As a mirror of school bullying, the film Better Days made “safeguard juveniles” a trending topic in the society. Attracted by this topic, Yee worked very hard on this film, expecting to strike a chord among us to pay more attention to the mental health of the juveniles.

Better Days
The film A Little Red Flower tells us a story of fighting against cancer. What he values most is the reality of the script: “It depicts a story plainly and naturally instead of focusing on pain and suffering, which makes it more realistic and powerful.”
