Dull and simple, he tries to find a part-time job, but fails repeatedly. At last, he manages to work in Chinese restaurant thanks to his former classmate Qiu Qiu. Guan Wei, acting keeper of the restaurant, takes him in and look after him; waiter Qingmu treats him as a rival in love; senior chef Laowan and junior cook Song ignore him. Li Xiaoli breaks silence on the basement floor, and gets involved in everyone’s life. Time flies. Before next spring comes, people stay and leave. What will happen to those that just bond like relatives, friends or semi-lovers?
In addition to winner of the Tiantan Award for Best Actress at the 12th BJIFF, the Song of Spring earned the highest average score in the Media House Programme and was well received by most media and film critics.
