The footprints of flowers spread all over the earth in spring breeze, just as the calendar marks the change of seasons. Films are also our footprints, measuring the flow of the times with stories on the screen. Our lives keep moving on with such change and flow as well.

As the main event of the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), this year's Film Carnival is scheduled from April 21 to May 4 under the theme of “Follow the Footsteps of Films, Enjoy Life in Huairou”. Based on the “7+N“ mode, which consists of seven venues at the Film Town and N linkage venues, the event will launch almost 40 cultural activities, mainly involving five major parts as follows:

The event aims to create a new lifestyle that integrates film art at the Flower Sea of the Film Town, where citizens can cook tea and drink coffee together, enjoying the first film in spring quietly. The “Film Screening Room” activity will be organized at the Huairou Campus of Beijing Film Academy.

A Chinese fashion show, fun for filmmakers, light and shadow gathering, childish park tour and other activities will take place, endeavoring to create a new cultural brand of the “Sleepless Film Town”.

The event will select popular photo spots from the perspective of young people, and deeply link venue resources such as Haihao Pictures’ Live-action Shooting Base, Banying Liangtian Leisure Area and Bona Film Group, thus further unlocking fashion codes. Through a series of immersive experience activities, visitors’ journey at the Film Town will be enriched.

This year's Film Carnival will restart a new session of the Kunlun Fight World Championship, leading citizens to experience boxing in Huairou. Besides, it will host the E-Sports Celebration, Animation IP Exhibition and other theme activities, combining films with e-sports.

Based on the construction of a tourism demonstration area across Huairou District, a film concert will take place at the Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention & Exhibition Center; film exchange activities will be held at rural boutique B&Bs; a number of interactive experiences will be launched at the Mutianyu Great Wall and Yanqi Lake Tourist Area.
