Hi, young filmmakers! Registration for the Project Pitches at the 16th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) has quietly come to a close. Three months, 539 projects - we have captured this fervent creative passion through data. This "Spring Data Report" is dedicated to every dream builder.
On November 27, 2025, at 12:50:18, the project Temporary Family became the first submission, officially marking the beginning of registration for the Project Pitches at the 16th BJIFF; on February 14, 2026, at 23:49:59, the final submission - the project Into the Dream - brought the registration period for this year's Project Pitches to a close.
February 14, the registration deadline, saw the highest volume of submissions, with 98 projects received in a single day - accounting for 18.2% of the total number. That Valentine's Day, the most romantic thing to do was to keep a date with cinema.
The golden window for submissions was 15:00 to 19:00, during which 169 projects were received, accounting for 31.3% of the total - proof that the afternoon hours of working days are when creators devote themselves to their passion.
This year, we welcomed back 23 familiar faces who had previously participated in the BJIFF Project Pitches, bringing with them 26 projects for a reunion with the festival.
A total of 435 projects chose to plant the very first seeds of their creative vision in the soil of the BJIFF Project Pitches, reflecting the trust that creators place in this platform.
