On the morning of June 10th, Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee held a series of press conferences entitled "Beijing Celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the CPC" -- a special session on key literary and artistic works.

 

Wang Jiequn, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and director of the Municipal and the director of the Municipal Film Bureau, reported on the film creation and production organized in Beijing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.

 

The Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the Municipal Film Bureau improve the degree of organization, give full play to the advantages of organization, focus on major themes, and promote the creation of high-quality films from the aspects of organize and plan, resources integration, financial support, as well as system and mechanism. First, focus on the overall situation and make comprehensive planning. We have held symposiums on film topic selection, the symposium for leaders of key film and television enterprises, the symposium on film and television work of the city, and the symposium on promoting film creation of the city. We have visited and investigated irregularly to gather information on the creation dynamics of film and television enterprises in real time, and regularly collect film and television projects from film and television production units and districts of the city. Finally, the films celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, such as The Pioneer, The Battle at Lake Changjin, and Snipers were included into the key project library.

Secondly, finely polish the script around the creation. We attach great importance to the creation of the script, and require the creators to firmly focus on the theme of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and repeatedly refine the script, so as to ensure that the script has a distinct theme and strong innovation.

Thirdly, provide carefully check and guidance for the whole process of film making. See quality as the lifeline of literary works and strengthen the quality monitor link. Improve the service and support for the key films on the centenary of the CPC. For key works, we give guidance and support in the processes of script writing, project review, film shooting, publicity and distribution, technical innovation, and overseas promotion. Strictly implement the creation requirements with high-quality standards to ensure the orientation and quality of works.

Lastly, provide targeted financial support to key works. Make good use of the supportive policy of Beijing Publicity and Culture Guidance Fund to mobilize enthusiasm and give continuous guidance and strong support to all aspects of key works. For The Battle at Lake Changjin, which was suspended due to the outbreak, we provided a special subsidy to ensure that it could be released on time and in good quality despite the impact of the epidemic.
