Director's trailer of My People, My Parents
Wu Jing's story, set in wartime and involving a lot of circuses, is technically difficult and high-stakes. "That's the attitude of Chinese filmmakers," he said, describing the shoot as "fighting with one's life.” In the trailer, Wu Jing, who is drenched in sweat, is highly focused. In case of any emergency, he is the first to ensure the safety of the staff, which shows his professionalism and responsibility as a director. While facing the challenges of her new role as a director, Zhang Ziyi also played a mother without makeup. As the only female director, she showed the power of female filmmakers, and said, "We are paying homage to our parents' selfless dedication with sincere and strong emotions.” From her first starring film, My Father and Mother, to her first directing work, My People, My Parents, Zhang Ziyi seems to have been destined to this film.
Sections “Leap” and “The Last Lesson” from the first two works in the “National Day Trilogy”, both directed by Xu Zheng, have impressed audiences. As a veteran participated in all of the three works, Xu Zheng said, "This series is all about expressing a kind of feelings.” This time he put the perspective on the innovation era featuring reforming and opening-up. With his new role, director Shen Teng shows his unique “Teng-style” humor as an actor as well as his seriousness as a director for the first time. Although creation is difficult, his work is attractive with support from Mahua Fun Age. He hopes to bring new laughter and surprise to the audience this time with of his own ideas. How will the four directors work together to tell the stories of family affection in different times?
