Welcome to Visit “Immersive Rooms” for Revolutionary Films
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, we have selected 15 movies to present this magnificent history over the past century for moviegoers. There are 15 movies to be screened, some of which observe and record China’s development from the macro perspective, some of which truthfully present deeds of model individuals, some of which are commercial productions with prominent genre features, and some of which are classics full of artistic values.

After watching the films, is there a movie scene that you cannot get out of your mind? Do you want to walk in a real scene to undergo an immersive experience? If so, you should not miss the Immersive Rooms for Revolutionary Films we have elaborately built.
“Bright Banner · Glorious Lights and Shadows” Film Experience Exhibition

The China Film Archive in partnership with the China Science and Technology Museum specially launched the “Bright Banner · Glorious Lights and Shadows” Film Experience Exhibition. The exhibition has selected four classic revolutionary films, namely Roaring Across the Horizon, The Unfailing Radio Wave, Eternity in Flames, and The Creation of A World. The exhibition, which combines the study and education of Party history, presents classic scenes of the films to the audience in the form of immersive room experience, allowing them to review revolutionary classics.

What surprises are hidden in the "Immersive Rooms" of the China Film Archive?

Room for The Unfailing Radio Wave
Room for The Unfailing Radio Wave

The film The Unfailing Radio Wave, based on a true story of martyr Li Bai, tells the story of Li Xia, a CPC member, who hid in an enemy-occupied area and devoted his life to the revolutionary cause. In the exhibition area, we restored a room in which the protagonist Li Xia once worked. I believe that friends who have watched this movie must be very familiar with this frugal and simple room.

The film Roaring Across the Horizon tells the story of how general Feng Shi and scientist Lu Guangda led a scientific research troop to overcome various difficulties and eventually complete explosion tests for our country's first atomic bomb in the northwest desert area. We restored a room in which scientists once carried out scientific research. Here, the audience can have the spiritual resonance with scientists at that time, and immersively experience their painstaking struggle in harsh conditions.

Room for Eternity in Flames

The film Eternity in Flames is adapted from the novel Red Rock. Before the liberation of Chongqing, Sister Jiang goes to Huaying Mountain to participate in the armed uprising in the countryside without knowing her husband has been killed by the enemy. Due to the betrayal of the traitor Fu Zhigao, she and Xu Yunfeng, the leader of the underground CPC organization in Chongqing, are arrested. They resolutely keep the secrets of the CPC organization and wage tenacious struggles against the enemy in the prison. In the exhibition area, we restored a cell in which Sister Jiang and other revolutionary martyrs were imprisoned, and reproduced two classic scenes in the film -- The martyrs embroider the red flag and Little Luobotou releases the butterfly.

The high-degree restoration of scenes allows visitors to strengthen their understanding of classic revolutionary films, and feel the arduous and great course of revolution in the centennial struggle with the charm of films.

Room for The Creation of A World

In the exhibition area of China Film Archive, we restored tables and chairs in a Shikumen-style house in Shanghai where the 1st National Congress of the CPC was convened, and sorted out text and picture archives of The Creation of A World, a film that is dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China. Party members can also review the Party oath and recall their original aspiration of joining the Party in front of the Party flag.
