25 Features of Hong Kong Films
In the past 11 Beijing International Film Festivals, many outstanding Hong Kong films have been screened and shortlisted.
These films span more than half a century, and their creators include legendary directors who have opened up China's film landscape, promising mainstays, and emerging newcomers. Many works have become classics, and their directors are regarded as grandmasters. For some valuable works and filmmakers still to be tested by time, we have the opportunity to witness their ascension to the podium.
As a tribute to the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, we have selected 25 directors from the films screened and shortlisted during the past 11 Beijing International Film Festivals, representing different features of the development of Hong Kong Film in the past half century.
