Kara Wai is no stranger to us. She was the winner of the first Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Actress. While 20 years later, she won another two awards for Best Actress and one for Best Supporting Actress also at Hong Kong Film Awards, which made her the "Meryl Streep" in Hong Kong.
Hugo Ng Toi Yung, an actor from Singapore, started his career in Hong Kong in 1980s. He once starred in TV series Two Most Honorable Knights playing Fa Mo-kuet with Tony Leung Chiu-wai, from which he became a new-born star of martial arts. He has made brilliant performance in many films recently.
Karena Ng, a Hong Kong actress of the new generation, was selected by Raymond Wong Pak-ming to star in the New Year blockbuster Magic to Win at the age of 17, for which she was nominated for Best New Performer at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Since then, she has starred in many other popular films.
Kara Wai made impressive efforts to play the role of the blind. Her down-to-earth attempt to experience the “dark world” of the blind was highly admirable. All three actors made wonderful performance in this film, contributing to the success of the young director.
