On the evening of August 16, Derek Yee Masterclass began. The 12th BJIFF Film Power Forum was held in Beijing on the afternoon of August 16 with the theme of Exploration, Pursuit and Creation of “Superior” Films, and Professor Hao Rong, Dean of the Central Academy of Drama, invited senior film artists such as Huang Jianxin, Zhang Ziyi, Zheng Dasheng, Liu Haoran, Shu Huan and Lan Xiaolong to participate it to share their experience and look forward to the development and future of films based on current situation of "lacking superior works" in Chinese film and television. According to actress Zhang Ziyi, "superior works" cannot be made with the energy of one person, but is shaped by the collective.   Ten years of Chinese film and television education for in-depth training of talents in the industry
The China Education on Visual Art Forum of the 12th BJIFF was held in Beijing on August 16. With the theme of "China’s Education on Visual Art over the Past Decade", representatives from universities and academic circles gathered together to make an in-depth analysis of the trend of China's film and television education and the impact of industry changes on talent training, and put forward comments and suggestions with film and television as the carrier and academics as the support.   Final-round Project Pitching Started
The Final-round Project Pitching of the 12th BJIFF—Beijing Film Market took place on August 16 at the Beijing Yanqi Lake International Conference Center. For the first time, the Project Pitches jury is composed of five members, with Derek Yee, a famous screenwriter, director, and executive producer, served as the president, and Zhang Yuqi, Liang Lin, Ya Ning and Zhu Weijie as the jury members. They conducted one-on-one meetings with the finalists on site and worked together to select the awards for this year’s Project Pitches.
  
  Game-Based Animated Films Section—"E-sports Carnival" launched for the first time
Organized and guided by the 12th BJIFF Organizing Committee Office and the Publicity Department of Beijing Huairou District Committee of the Communist Party of China, hosted by the Beijing Huairou District Cultural Industry Development Promotion Center and Zhongxuan Cultural Media (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and presented by Poly Digi-Entertainment, the 12th BJIFF—Game-Based Animated Films Section was held in Flower Sea of the Film Town, Huairou on August 16.
It is the first time for the "E-sports Carnival" to be included in the film carnival activities, which is also an important part of the 12th BJIFF—Game-Based Animated Films Section.
