Hope to Create Another Benchmark for Youth Romance Films: Stanley Kwan’s Official Announcement for New Film It’s Good to Remember at the BJIFF
With the grand opening of the 12th BJIFF, various splendid events have shown up in succession. Chinese films have once again ushered in a bright future full of vitality and hope.
Stanley Kwan, a famous director from Hong Kong, China, once served as the guest of the Workshop & Masterclass at the 10th BJIFF, and he delivered a 1.5-hour-long lecture themed "Hong Kong Film: Inheritance of Tradition and Development for Surpassing" through online video and conducted talks on the site. With his unique features of shaping the image of oriental women in Chinese films, Stanley Kwan is known as the director who “understands women's hearts best”. He has created many female images persistent for love that have deeply attracted the audience. In the Workshop & Masterclass at the 10th BJIFF, Stanley Kwan said affectionately that he had produced more than ten films in the past years. He decided to serve as the producer due to his original intention of "trying best to escort". He could understand the thoughts and concerns of the younger directors and he would like to share more experiences and suggestions on the process and content creation of film industry. Director Kwan believed that it was his responsibility and commitment to young filmmakers.

On the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, director Kwan, as an "old friend" of the BJIFF, officially announced the launch of his metropolitan romance film It’s Good to Remember at the 12th BJIFF. The film to be produced tells the moving love story of a couple who still stay with each other from meeting, love, marriage and challenges in life. Full of romance as well as laughter and tears, the film aims to explore the true meaning of love and the healing effect for the current society. 
  
So Young, the film he produced ten years ago, revealed the creation of films with the theme of youth romance in Chinese film market with the box office of 719 million yuan. With the maturity of the theme film market and the appreciation of audience, Director Kwan’s new film It’s Good to Remember will focus on the background of the times and audience’s needs. He will carefully conduct content innovation and film upgrading for better effect and the film is expected to become another benchmark for the youth romance films. 
 
  
The film will be produced by Zhejiang Nanpai Film, YIPENGXI Film, and Dadi Film with Mao Linbo and Xiong Ying as chief producers. It’s Good to Remember is now under busy preparations with the participation of many well-known cast and crew. The film is expected to be launched this year and screened nationwide in 2023.
