▍ Meet-and-greet with cast & crew of film Virgin Blue
On August 19, the post-screening exchange activity of film Virgin Blue in the Lens Horizon section of “Beijing Film Panorama” was held in the China Film Archive Art Cinema. Director Niu Xiaoyu, producer Wang Zijian and Zhu Wenhui, starring Yean Zi, art director Lan Zhiqiang, editing director Hu Shuzhen, director of audiography Zhang Yang, and director of photography Deng Xu presented and met the audience.
This is a film with a bright experimental feature, which originates from the director's personal experience and memories, using the form of comics, songs and dances to create a surrealist spiritual world.
In the post-screening exchange, director Niu Xiaoyu talked about the creation experience of "Virgin Blue Trilogy", which was actually her thinking, questioning and solving of the problem of "how to face the loss of loved ones". She also shared the reasons for choosing four songs in the film and her understanding of the interactive relationship between music and emotion. Starring Yean Zi shared her understanding of the story; Producer Wang Zijian talked about the criteria for selecting scripts, involving narrative, emotional state and imagination space; Zhu Wenhui said the film brought back memories from her childhood and immersed her in Yean Zi's emotions; Director of photography Deng Xu believed that light and shadow exist as characters, which have rich emotions, and this shooting is a challenge; Editing director Hu Shuzhen shared her thoughts on the script and her feelings about working with the director; Art director Lan Zhiqiang admitted the change of understanding of the film script; director of audiography Zhang Yang said the film has always given him the feeling of a dream… They all talked about emotions, and we could see that the feature of this film is the flow of emotions like prose poetry.
The audience Q&A session was even more wonderful, which involved the boundary between dream and reality, the exposure of the shooting mechanism, the idea of inserting comic strips, and the way to view the "farewell" and so on.
Perhaps, each of us has a fish pond in childhood, which is an irreversible time and space, full of lush life; it is the image and imagination to retain the beauty of the past, but also the energy supply station for the way to the future. At a moment of looking back, the dotted memory appears, like the dream in a dream, wandering in the long night.

▍Post-screening exchange activity of film Table for Six
Romantic comedy film Table for Six shortlisted in the Chinese Influence section of Beijing Film Panorama, which was directed by Sunny Chan and starred by Dayo Wong, Stephy Tang, Louis Cheung, Ivana, Min-Chen Lin and Peter Chan, was screened at Broadway Cinematheque on August 19. After the screening, Mr. William Kong shared with the audience his original intention of supervising the production online.
He said he hoped that the screening of such a good film would bring back to the big screen the Hong Kong-style romantic comedies in shortage recently. Not only is it lighthearted and funny, but it can help you find the courage to move on and find love in a life filled with contradictions. The film's title is the same as that of a song of Jacky Cheung, and the inner world of the man by Dayo Wong is exactly what the lyrics say, "Flowers don't seem to bloom, but love grows like the sea.”
The film will be released nationwide on September 9. We sincerely invite you to go to the cinema and gain full of emotion in the laughter!
