Warner Bros. China Launches Series of WB 100 Celebration to Make Classic Stories Reborn
Beijing, April 4, 2023 – Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. announced its calendar of activities in China to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Warner Bros. Pictures. In partnership with the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), it will celebrate WB 100 with a series of activities themed “Celebrating Every Story”.

Warner Bros. China’s WB 100 celebrations include: 
April 19, Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. will be working with the 13th BJIFF to launch Classic Screening, Dialogue with Masters, Thematic Celebration, and participate in a series of Warner Bros. 100th anniversary (WB 100) themed activities such as Industry Forum and Beijing Film Market Project Pitches. There, it will make another appointment for film and celebrate the centenary event with movie fans, members of the press, industry experts, and partners. 
Beijing Film Panorama to relive stories touching the world
A special selection of eight iconic films of great significance in the history of Hollywood will be screened, including Casablanca by Hungarian-born director Michael Curtiz, and 2001: A Space Odyssey by Austrian-Jewish-American director Stanley Kubrick, so as to review 100 years of Warner Bros. Pictures’ storytelling together with Chinese moviegoers. (For details about screening selection, please see the appendix at the end of this press release)

Dialogue with Masters to discover the charm of cinema 
On April 19, at the opening event of the Beijing Film Panorama WB 100 section, producer Peter Safran at DC Studios will be present with his masterpiece Aquaman as part of the event, discussing with leading Chinese filmmakers, sharing the latest technology used in film production at home and abroad, and exploring how Chinese science fiction films go global. Alongside, a classic film screening event will be launched to celebrate every classic story popular with movie fans. 
Thematic Celebration to rediscover century-old legend
From April 25 to 27, the BJIFF Beijing Film Market will launch a WB 100 themed celebration at the Langyuan Station Central Station open space. The Warner Bros Water Tower, a well-known landmark in Southern California, will be displayed at the scene, along with the highlight reels of works in different themes such as science fiction, romance, action and thriller that will be repeatedly played on the LED screen. In the meantime, there will be a display of peripheral products of classic film IPs in the exhibition area, where the visitors can even place orders by scanning the QR code, and a convenient doorstep deliver service of their favorite IP products will be provided. 
Beijing Film Market Project Pitches to witness the rise of new filmmakers
Between April 25 and 26, Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. will be involved in the Beijing Film Market Project Pitches as a first-round jury member and a “chief producer” in the final round. Also, it will set up a Special Award incentive fund to contribute to the selection of outstanding works that are potential in the film market, as well as supporting and inspiring the new generation of filmmakers.
Industry Forum to explore the road ahead
On April 27, executives from Warner Bros. Discovery China will be invited to the MPA Workshop to explore the development and prospects of the cinema of China, and to share the significance of close cooperation between Warner Bros. and China and the Chinese market to Warner Bros’ 100-year development with famous filmmakers, industry experts and partners.
Encounter classic IPs and share happy time at a themed exhibition held at China World Mall: From March 25 to May 8, Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. will interact with China World Mall in Beijing by launching the first WB 100 exhibition in Asia. In the company of their favorite IP characters, fans can immerse themselves in the sets as true, take photos, and discover interesting playing methods to share classic charm and infinite joy. 
  
  First WB 100 Exhibition in Asia
Share the joy with movie fans on the topic page of Tencent Video: Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. will partner with Tencent Video to launch an exclusive WB 100 themed campaign in mid-April, which features the many influential and culturally representative film works created in the history of Warner Bros for more than 100 years.
Warner Bros classic characters and players enjoy the game world: Warner Bros. Games will work with Chinese partners to launch limited-edition WB 100 character images targeting the Chinese market in a variety of its games to give back to Chinese game players.
Multiple gifts of thematic peripherals will be presented to movie fans: Warner Bros. Consumer Products will join hands with leading China-chic brands to launch 100-plus WB 100 themed products in vogue and figurines, which will be rolled out during the year.
