On April 20, 2023, the Beijing Film Panorama section of the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) officially kicked off!

At 10:00AM, the documentary Come With Me to the Cinema – The Gregors was first screened in the Beijing Film Panorama section at the China Film Archive Art Cinema, offering a vivid and touching film lesson for fans. The Gregors were a legendary couple in the film industry. They met and fell in love with each other through movies. They set up a fan organization to hold film screening activities, and jointly founded their own famous art cinema "Arsenal Cinema". They also founded the Young Filmmakers Forum section of the Berlin International Film Festival, and discovered a large number of excellent film creators.

The planning team arranged the film as the first screening in the Beijing Film Panorama section, hoping that the spirit of fanatics in the film can continue to be passed on in the BJIFF, and that the audience can find the fun and meaning of life in the film like the Gregors. After that, the annual hit Aftersun, the Silver Bear Award winner at the Berlin International Film Festival The Plough, Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey, Douban’s "No.1" The Shawshank Redemption, new classic animation IP Lupin the 3rd vs Cat’s Eye and other excellent films were screened in various theaters one by one. Famous director Xie Fei was also present at the screening exchange scene of the 4K restoration version of Woman Sesame Oil Maker at the Beijing Broadway Cinematheque (MOMA).

What to watch for tomorrow: There is full of highlights on April 21. In the Retrospective section, the Seijun Suzuki series will officially debut, and Youth of the Beast and the newly restored 4K Branded to Kill and other legendary works will be introduced to the audience. In the B&R Asian Vision LENOVO Special Presentation section, Ajoomma, Autobiography, Harvest Moon and other excellent works will lead audience to travel around Asia and enjoy the cultural customs of different places. Acclaimed new films including L'immensita, White Plastic Sky, Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman and Moonage Daydream will also be screened.
