Metaverse Film Forum—Digital Panorama in Metaverse
The "Metaverse Film Forum—A Digital Panorama in the Metaverse", a session co-locating with the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), is about to kick off across time and space! Let’s meet at the digital-reality integration space at the Metaverse Film Forum from April 25 to May 2, exploring the digital panorama in the metaverse and looking into both the past and the future.
The 2nd Metaverse Film Forum, co-hosted by the BJIFF Organizing Committee, the Publicity Department of Beijing Tongzhou District Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Beijing Tongzhou Science and Technology Commission, and Mandrill Picture Corp., will be held in an “immersive digital space” featuring the digital-reality integration from April 25 to May 2, 2023. Headliner guests and scholars in the industry will be invited to the digital space to broach new subjects, share new ideas, break new ground, and provoke new reflections as we are in the middle of the development of the metaverse.

The 2nd Metaverse Film Forum is themed on “A Digital Panorama in the Metaverse”. Daguan literally means a grand and spectacular scene. The phrase Shuzi Daguan (digital panorama) indicates that the digital world of the metaverse is as all-encompassing as the real-life world, but also carries a broader pattern of development and more imagination.
Eight panelists will gather in the digital space featuring the digital-reality fusion at the Metaverse Film Forum, looking into both the present and the future, and exploring the impact of the development of digital film and television technology and the production of digital film and television content on society, culture, economy, life, and entertainment in all aspects. They are: sci-fi writer Liu Cixin; film director Stanley Tong; screenwriter Wang Hailin; Li Tingwei, General Manager of Poly Film Investment Co., Ltd .; Yao Wenlong, General Manager of Inner Mongolia Film Studio Co., Ltd.; Li Mingtao, professor at the Central Academy of Drama; lawyer Pang Lipeng; and film director Tony·Reed.
The 2nd Metaverse Film Forum will be powered by Beijing-based SkyMaper and co-organized by Beijing Municipal Administrative Center Metaverse Application Innovation Center, Beijing Tongzhou Development Group Co., Ltd., the Science Fiction Creation Research Base of China Science Writers Association, the Beijing Yuanyu Science Fiction and Future Technology Research Institute, the Beijing Informatization Association, the iDWF Meta Union, with media support from Tencent News.
