Animation Forum of the Game-based Animated Films Exhibition Section is about to Open: Aesthetic Exploration and Innovation of Chinese Animation
On the morning of April 25, the Opening Forum of the Game-based Animated Films Exhibition Section of the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) will be held at the Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention & Exhibition Center (BYCC) in Huairou District.

The theme of this forum is "Aesthetic Exploration and Innovation of Chinese Animation", and it will invite a number of senior practitioners and creators to give in-depth explanations from the creation and expression of traditional art films and animation images in the new era, the enhancement of Chinese animation aesthetic system by technical means, the full integration of art styles and stories, and how Chinese animation goes international, and jointly discuss the aesthetic system and future development direction of Chinese animation based on the current booming animation industry.

The opening forum is divided into two parts: keynote speech and roundtable dialogue. The panelists of this forum are (in no particular order): Chen Liaoyu, director in chief of Yao-Chinese Folktales, Yang Zhigang, director of Dahufa, Weng Ming, production designer of Deep Sea, Hu Rui, director of Goose Mountain, Cheng Liang, director in chief at Dangdang Animation, and Cai Bo, producer of the animation work Goose Mountain, will moderate the forum.

At this forum, Chen Liaoyu, chief director of Yao-Chinese Folktales, will give a keynote speech on the topic of “Chinese Wonder Stories: Collision of Oriental Folktales and Independent Animation Aesthetics”, systematically explaining the aesthetic concept behind the creation of Yao-Chinese Folktales and the deep exploration of traditional Chinese culture.
This year's animation film market is also full of surprises, and a number of films have obtained good box office and reputation. The Deep Sea, which was released during the Spring Festival, won the applause of the audience for its fine and delicate visual effects of particles and ink. Weng Ming, the production designer of Deep Sea, will deliver a keynote speech on the topic of “Origin of Dreams: Early Art Exploration of the Film Deep Sea”, telling us about the exploration of characters and scenes in this work from the original creative intention to aesthetics. In addition, Cheng Liang, director in chief at Dangdang Animation, will also give a keynote speech on the topic of "Integration and Innovation of Chinese Jiangnan Features and Animation", sharing with us the integration and innovation of characteristic regional features in animation works.
