In this beautiful spring, let’s have an amazing experience for games and films! On May 1, the Game-Based Animated Films Section of the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF)—E-sports Carnival will kick off in the Flower Sea of the Film Town, Huairou. The event is jointly guided by the BJIFF Organizing Committee, the Beijing State-owned Cultural Assets Management Center, and the Publicity Department of Beijing Huairou District Committee of the Communist Party of China, hosted by the Huairou District Cultural Industry Development Promotion Center and Beijing Chunjiangnuan Culture Communication Co., Ltd., and organized by the Beijing E-Sports Industry Development Association. 

In this May of glory, the Section extends an invitation to all who love E-sports and films. The three-day event from May 1 - May 3, is designed for you for this May Day.  

As an important part of the Game-Based Animated Films Section of the 13th BJIFF, the “E-sports Carnival” is also a special section that is deeply bound with the "Film Carnival" of the BJIFF, aiming to guide participants to develop a healthy, positive, and upward attitude towards e-sports and have a great joy from it, while experiencing the pan-entertainment delight of e-sports, film, and animation. The amazing activities of three days are believed to greatly enhance the participation and the sense of gaining for participants, thus enriching the spiritual and cultural life of the public. 

　　A Previous Edition of E-sports Carnival 

Last year saw the establishment of the “E-sports Carnival” at the Game-Based Animated Films Section, which provided awards to lead the participants to enjoy a more justice and open competition and set the good model of e-sports talent to further popularize the concepts and connotation of e-sports in an appropriate orientation. Last year, the event was held successfully and achieved remarkable results, with wide public participation and enthusiastic response. Both the youngsters and children found what they wanted and needed from it.

This year, the “E-sports Carnival” is also very exciting, set with a large number of crane machines, basketball machines, arcade, VR flying machines, and other entertainment facilities, as well as Honor of Kings Challenge for all “fighters” with easy registration for participation. In the main venue of the E-sports Carnival—Flower Sea of the Film Town, Huairou, it will have a new cultural tourism space featuring real scenarios from Full River Red with a marketplace of national culture, covering a variety of businesses such as thematic cultural creativity, special performances, food and entertainment. In addition, there is also a fair integrating camping, food, music, culture and innovation, containing dozens of parent-child games like pitch-pot, Chuiwan (ball-hitting), and archery. Visitors will see the prosperity of the night market dotted with numerous stalls and various figures in ancient costumes. The culture-themed fairs and special spaces are waiting for your discovery.
