BJIFF × BVLGARI · Conversations Forum Held: Share Journey to Italian Film, Spark Creative Inspiration
The BJIFF × BVLGARI · Conversations Forum was held during the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF). Vincenzo Pujia, Vice President of Retail and Customer Experience at BVLGARI and Managing Director in Greater China, famous actress Kara Wai, Tan Zhuo, famous actress, Artistic Innovation Promotion Ambassador of the 13th BJIFF and Initiator of new Movement Section, Jennifer Dong, well-known film presenter & producer, a key promoter of international exchanges in China's film industry, Founder & Chairwoman of Meridian Entertainment, and Chairman of Beijing United Entertainment Partners Culture & Media Co., Ltd., and Li Dongmei, film director, screenwriter and producer, attended the forum, discussing changes and eternities in the ever-changing film industry, and encouraging more filmmakers and moviegoers to jointly promote the film prosperity.

The forum, which consists of three chapters, invited filmmakers in front of and behind the scenes to tell their stories about film, and explore the unique gem-like charm of film art that never fades away over the years. The first chapter, “Me and Film”, focused on the origin of stories between filmmakers and film, where panelists shared their experiences in devoting themselves to the film industry.
Kara Wai started working as an actress at 17 years old, and was the winner of the first Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Actress. As a legend of the film industry, she said that film has long been an integral part of her life over the years. Vincenzo Pujia stated that the close association between BVLGARI and film art has provided constant sources of inspiration for each other's creation in the past 70 years.

BVLGARI’s connection with film also enjoys a long history. In the 1950s, when Italian film industry was flourishing, BVLGARI was widely favored by the film industry with its unique artistic style and exquisite craftsmanship, and joined hands with several film superstars to create classic images at Cinecittà in Rome. In 1956, BVLGARI started making medals for the David di Donatello Award. In the coming years, it has collaborated with international film festivals, such as Academy Awards, Berlin International Film Festival, Festival de Cannes, Shanghai International Film Festival, etc., and participated in the restoration and promotion of classic films for many times.
The “Story behind Screen” chapter revealed the inspiration behind the creation of films, where panelists shared the creation feelings from their own perspectives. Li Dongmei directed her first feature film based on her own life stories, in which memories and the real life intertwined to spark inspiration and present sincere emotions through images. Tan Zhuo said that the inspiration of creation comes from the accumulation of life, such as paying attention to and thinking about every detail, and connecting with different characters and stories.
The “Shining Like A Gem” chapter expressed the inner dreams of creators from different perspectives, and discussed the inspiring power of film. Jennifer Dong has successively engaged in technology, equipment research and development, distribution, production and other links of the film industry. She noted that young filmmakers are a key force to determine the future development of the film industry, so we should create more opportunities for them to make the film art get inexhaustible energy. Vincenzo Pujia said BVLGARI, as an official partner of the 13th BJIFF, will keep supporting new talents to throw themselves into the film industry, and open up greater creative space for young filmmakers.
