The welcome banquet was hosted by President of Serbia on the noon of May 8 local time. President Xi Jinping also mentioned that Serbian legendary figures, such as Novak Djokovic, Nikola Jokic and Emir Kusturica, in sports and cultural communities are household names in China.

Novak Djokovic, rated as one of the greatest male tennis player of all time, has won 24 Grand Slam men’s singles titles and 7 ATP Finals;

Nikola Jokic, a basketball player born after 1995, has three MVPs in regular NBA seasons;

Emir Kusturica, one of the very few modern filmmaking masters winning awards at the Festival de Cannes, Berlin International Film Festival and Venice International Film Festival, served as the Jury President of the 14th BJIFF Tiantan Award this year.
