Everlasting BJIFF Campaign Preview - Warmth and Power of Dreams
Film embodies the warmth of humanity. It is the emotion conveyed in films but also the persistence shown by those dream chasers and filmmakers that creates such a feeling. It will be better expressed on the stage of BJIFF. Over the years, BJIFF has been supporting young filmmakers and transforming this warmth into an invisible strength, bolstering generations of creators to march forward bravely. On November 15 and 16, BJIFF will join hands with DinooCafe to hold two events of in-depth dialogue with films, and pass on that warmth to more people through texts and images.
Dinoo - Screening Program November 15
Experience the film-making of young directors through movies and conversations
The story between the young director Zhang Dage and the BJIFF is the most telling witness of that warmth. Her film works express emotions gently but touches the very deep part of our heart. From her negotiation with BJIFF on the BJIFF Pitching Platform for the long film project The Red Sun, to later short film works with her unique styles, BJIFF has always been there and cheering for every progress of her.
In the event DinooCafe - Screening Program to be held on November 15, director Zhang Dage will meet the audience with her short films: Farewell My Love, June 6th, Wedding Fantasies. These film works take women and love as core elements and present the audience an in-depth insight of humanity and emotion. These films, respectively telling stories of a couple on their road trip with their own secrets and worries, a world divided by a glass window, and an unexpected reunion when planning a wedding at a rainy day, have all been shot featuring subtle changes of emotions, making ordinary stories vivid and meaningful. This time, the director Zhang Dage will come to her fans and share her stories of how those films are created, and discuss with the audience the inspirations and meanings of filming.
In fact, providing support for young filmmakers has already been much more like a care for creative dreams than the BJIFF project itself. This warmth connects the filmmaker and film festival with the audience, serving as a soft power to drive the development of cinematic arts.
