As a platform for showcasing Chinese sports films and filmmakers to the world, the Beijing International Sports Film Week has been successfully held for 19 years since its founding 2005, and continues to present the best sports films to the public. 

This year is crucial for the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Chinese Films. Guided by the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the 20th Beijing International Sports Film Week will thoroughly carry out the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics review and awards ceremony to “manage and make full use of the legacy of the Beijing Winter Olympics”, and overall deployment at the 13th CPC Beijing Municipal Congress to “do a good job following the conclusion of Beijing Winter Olympics”, and give full play to the demonstration and leading role of Beijing as the world’s first dual-Olympic city.

As part of the World FICTS Challenge, the Beijing International Sports Film Week has submitted many outstanding Chinese sports films to the Sport Movies & TV-Milano International FICTS FEST-World Championship Final, approximately 70 of which won awards. The 20th Beijing International Sports Film Week starts call for entries and screening for the World FICTS Challenge 2024 (Beijing) in April, and will select and submit entries to the Final from May to August. 

Meanwhile, entries have the chance of being screened at the BJIFF Beijing Film Panorama and sports film public welfare screenings held in villages, universities and colleges as well as communities in Beijing and around China. In this way, outstanding films with rich cultural connotations can connect the public with sports films.

2. How to enter

Upload the entry form and entry to Baidu Wangpan, and send an e-mail containing the download hyperlink and verification code to sportsfilmweek@163.com.

Each entry shall consist of:

Complete final film (MOV or MP4 version preferred);

Entry form (Word document) (Click “Read more” to download the entry form on the official website);

A scanned copy of the entry form with handwritten signature/seal (PDF document); 

Poster, still or trailer if available.

3. Scope of entries

Sports films by production companies or individuals in the past three years (2022-2024), such as documentary, feature film and promotional film. In particular, the scope of documentaries is five years (2020-2024).

4. Authorization of usage

The entries to be submitted to the Final through selection and their information will be used for the following purposes, including but not limited to:

Release in the 20th Beijing International Sports Film Week Brochure and on the official website of the Beijing International Sports Film Week;

Relevant official promotional documents and launch event of the Beijing International Sports Film Week;

Promotional audio and video materials of the Beijing International Sports Film Week.

The Organizing Committee of the Beijing International Sports Film Week reserves the right of final interpretation regarding the above authorization.
