Every year, the BJIFF Theme Forum gathers prestigious filmmakers, industry leading figures and experts from various backgrounds to share their insights about the past, present and future of cinema, and seek effective pathways connecting the industry, filmmaking and technology.

With the BJIFF off to a new upward start, what are the highlights of this edition of Theme Forum? How the film industry shall respond to new trends like the AI technology and short dramas? How do diversified forms of filmmaking bring about ideas and inspirations? How do we overcome difficult, costly and slow financing of film projects? The 14th BJIFF Theme Forum, including 4 core forums and 3 featured forums, is to be held from April 21 to 26 at Langyuan Station and Huairou Campus, Beijing Film Academy.

The schedule is as follows:

Instead of one voice, the Theme Forum advocates free expression of various opinions. An encounter, a conversation, a discussion and a follow-up question mark a timestamped footnote to cinema. This year, the Theme Forum also reserves spots for public engagement. Filmmaking professionals, film fans, students at colleges and universities as well as friends from various walks of life are welcome to participate.
