Young Actress Sun Yi to Serve as Volunteer Ambassador of 13th BJIFF
The 13th BJIFF has welcomed a new friend. Young actress Sun Yi will serve as the volunteer ambassador of this year’s Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF).
From the big screen to the small one, Sun Yi, sometimes lively and sometimes quiet, has fully demonstrated her devotion to professional fields as a young actress.
In 2015, when making her debut on the big screen, Sun Yi played Li Chunxia in the film My Original Dream. With her sincere and pure performance, she has become the “white moonlight” of many audiences. In the same year, the film was nominated for Best Film at the 28th Tokyo International Film Festival.
In 2016, thanks to her superb performance in a new film, Sun won the Asian New Talent Award for Best Actress at the 19th Shanghai International Film Festival and the Rising Actress of the Year at the 11th Chinese Young Generation Film Forum.
“On the other side of drama, only perception is not enough, and integration after a little accumulation and precipitation is also a must,” Sun Yi once shared her insights on performance. In the TV series The Wind Blows from Longxi in 2022, Sun Yi practiced her unique perception of the film & television art. In such a TV series that focuses on men, Zhai Yue she starred is like a crescent moon in chaos, soft, beautiful and strong.

No matter Qin Sang (If Life Was Like When We First Met), who is sorrowful and indifferent, or Zhai Yue she starred in The Wind Blows from Longxi, who is brave, tactical and affectionate, Sun Yi has never given up her exploration of different roles.
“I will not consider decent roles, villains, the good or the bad, each character has its own charm, and nobody can just play a certain type of role all their life.” Based on such thinking, Sun Yi can always bring audiences to appreciate the charm and talent of multiple characters.

The constant pursuit of diversity is also a driving force of the BJIFF in the long term. No matter old and new films from all over the world in the Beijing Film Panorama, or film dreams that have not yet been released on the screen in the Project Pitches, or insightful quotes at the Theme Forum and Workshop & Masterclass, they all present an inclusive atmosphere, a colorful and beautiful look, and a pattern of together seeking improvement.
However, it's exactly the volunteers with silent dedication behind the scenes that support the successful organization of such abundant activities. On reception posts, they are as warm as the spring breeze; on service posts, they are careful and stay focused; on copywriting posts, they use paper as a tool to open up a world for film fans; on photography posts, they walk through the crowd, recording the beauty in every frame, etc.
The volunteers, who come from every corner of the motherland, have different personalities and thoughts, but show the same love for films. These faces, different but identical, also perfectly interpret the BJIFF’s insistence on diversity.

This year, the BJIFF has invited Sun Yi as the volunteer ambassador to meet with film lovers and make her own contribution to good films with her effort and vigor.
The BJIFF welcomes friends from the whole world to join our team of volunteers, and together witness, create and remember the grand event of the film industry this spring.
