The 10th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), hosted by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and China Media Group, will take place from August 22 to 29. As the organizers of forums during the 10th BJIFF, the China National Film Museum and the China Film Association will deliver the Summit on the Beauty of Film — Opportunities and Challenges to the Film Industry at the Grand Ballroom, Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention & Exhibition Center on August 26.
Explore the Beauty of Film, Look into Industrial Development
As one of the main forums of the BJIFF, the Summit on the Beauty of Film aims to explore the general rules of film aesthetics, the cultural & philosophic thoughts and literary & artistic mind behind films, the creation rules and aesthetic characters of film art, the relation between film art and other arts, the aesthetic value and social functions of film art, the psychological mechanism, process, features, significance and methods of film art and the aesthetic relation between filmgoers and film art. With the film industrial chain as the contents and the segments of film industry as topics, the summit will invite senior operators behind films to share their ideas, skills, achievements, experience and predictions for film development.
The summit this year will take place in the form of keynote speech + salon, with a focus on key and hot topics on the recovery of the film industry.
Discuss Industrial Challenges and Opportunities Amid Covid-19
The film has suffered a heavy loss with all cinemas suspending operations amid the COVID-19 outbreak this year. Industrial recovery is facing a huge challenge. Meanwhile, the deep integration of "Internet +" with the film industry has generated a variety of new business forms, showing a huge opportunity amid the crisis. From the perspectives of film creation analysis, audience research and prospect, the "Summit on the Beauty of Film" of the 10th BJIFF, with the theme "Opportunities and Challenges to the Film Industry", will invite renowned film producers, scholars, directors and screenwriters from home and abroad to share their studies and thoughts, and contribute wisdom to the sound development of the film industry through collisions of ideas and views.

As required by normalized epidemic prevention and control and integrated and innovative development, the summit this year will take place online and offline. The guests on site include Yu Dong, President of Bona Film Group; Yao Chen, a renowned actress; William Feng, Head of Greater China & Vice President of Asia Pacific, Motion Picture Association; and Zheng Zhihao, CEO of Maoyan Entertainment. Online guests include Sid Ganis, President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences; Rob Minkoff, Director of The Lion King; Tim Miller, Director of Deadpool and Anton Megerdichev, Director of Upward Movement.
