After failing their first steel-smelting attempt, workers led by Liang Risheng innovated by using firebricks instead of dolomite, succeeding in producing the necessary materials. Overcoming numerous challenges, they collaborated to complete the bridge repair before the Songhua River thawed, embodying resilience and collective effort in a race against time.
