Onomichi, Hiroshima’s last seaside cinema hosts an all-night war film marathon during its stormy closing night. When lightning strikes, three young patrons are hurled into the monochrome battlefields of the silver screen. As war history unfolds around them, they traverse cinema’s evolution—from silent black-and-white reels to colorized soundscapes—their reality dissolving into flickering propaganda and exploding shells. Trapped between celluloid illusions and wartime horrors, the trio witnesses how technology and ideology reshape both art and conflict, their journey mirroring Japan’s cinematic metamorphosis amid 20th-century turbulence.
