Havoc in Heaven is adapted from Journey to the West. Sun Wukong receives the Golden Staff from the Dragon Palace, prompting the Dragon King to file a complaint with the heavenly court. Li Changgen devises a plan to entice Wukong into the Imperial Horse Stable. After creating a ruckus there, Wukong makes his way back to Mount Huaguo. Li lures Wukong to the heavenly palace again, planning an ambush. Wukong then causes chaos in Yaochi, steals the gold elixir, and crafts his fiery golden eyes in the Eight Trigrams Furnace, resulting in a fierce battle against the heavenly forces, where he achieves victory.
