At Top of Bill: Red Carpet for 12th BJIFF Held
The biggest names of the film industry shared the stage for a new journey. On August 12, the red carpet for the opening ceremony of the 12th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) was held at the Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention & Exhibition Center (BYCC). Taking the center field, this year’s BJIFF brought together a super-stellar lineup of nearly 200 guests including the cast and crew members of nearly 30 outstanding films on the red carpet, witnessing the extraordinary moment with the BJIFF and movie fans in front of flashing cameras. At the same time, the red carpet was live streamed on yangshipin.cn, btime.com, and iQIYI, so that more people who are concerned about the BJIFF and love movies could engage in this star-studded and unparalleled red carpet and thus enjoy the gorgeous charm of the event.
Li Xuejian, a Chinese actor and jury president of the Tiantan Award, along with other jury members including Chinese director Frant Gwo, British director Malcolm Clarke, Chinese actress Qin Hailu, and Chinese director and actor Wu Jing, walked the red carpet, witnessing the shining moment of the 12th BJIFF with all other filmmakers together.

Hong Kong cinema will never fade away. The cast & crew of the film of Hong Kong, China Sunshine of My Life appeared on the red carpet, showing an extraordinary aura peculiar to the filmmaker.
The cast & crew of the absurd comedy Hedgehog stepped onto the red carpet. The first collaboration between Ge You and Wang Junkai has also raised expectations.

The finalists of this year’s Tiantan Award cover a wide range of genres, offering insight into different sides of the times and society, and presenting an international, diversified film feast for movie fans. Among them, the crews of Chinese films Off the Stage, Kong & Jigme, Song of Spring, and In Search of Lost Time appeared on the red carpet.
Qi Xi, one of the promoters for the Media House Programme, as well as guests such as Yao Chen, Teens in Times, Wang Likun, Xu Weizhou, Jeff Chang, Gao Tingyu, Qi Guangpu, Li Yuchun, Wong Cho Lam, and Leanne Li, was also present on the red carpet.
In addition, the cast & crew members of Today and Me, Think Like a Dog, New Happy Dad and Son 5: My Alien Friend, Give Me Five, Fortress, Green Sandalwood, Farewell Beijing, Stranger in Time, Above the Dust, Circular Block, Warriors of Future, Keep the Family Love, No Zuo No Die, Li Nuo's Dream, and The School of Magical Animals also made an appearance on the red carpet.
On August 13, the 12th BJIFF will ring the curtain up to display the glittering world of cinema. From August 13 to August 20, nine events & activities will be staged as part of the 12th BJIFF, including the Tiantan Award, Beijing Film Panorama, Theme Forum, Beijing Film Market, Film Carnival, Beijing College Student Film Festival, Closing & Awards Ceremony, and Film+.
